Derailleur Guard

I haven't see many bikes fitted with these, I'd have thought they would be very popular on mountain bikes with the potential for damaging the rear mech on the rough stuff. Even Shimano make one, the DG15

    they donr work with most MTB but were common with the old ATBs back in the 80's and with the replaceable mech hanger they are obsolete.

    (and stupid looking and heavy, and probably stronger than your frame so more likely to damage it)

    I've sold a few on ebay that came off old beaters, would never let one near my bike, and as for that being made by Shimano - I have my doubts!

    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
  • You could custom fit a derailleur protector from a Lapierre Zesty, but again they dont actually work and look bobbins.
