Thinking of a ride there on Thursday, just looking for info like parking, best areas etc.

    I had a look there a couple of years ago. Found a car park with adjacent freeride area which was ok. Some tracks from there thru woods- ok but nothing special. If you haven't been yet I can look up my notes. Could do with meeting up with someone who has developed a route.

    There is a lot of stuff up there but one loop I regularly do is this:

    You cna park at the castle and go from there, or anywhere on the loop.

    I can get onto the common in less that 10mins from my garage by bike, so know it well.

    There is lots of stuff up there like robmccreedie said but I would advise going with someone who knows the area. Most people seem to end up riding round the fire roads and missing all the good stuff.

    One on my list of places to explore when I'm next down there, just I've not been sure I'll find the stuff on my own though I'm fairly good at finding things, often by mistake.
