Probably too little air in the shock, buy a shock pump and pump it up more till you have it set the way you want it, or take it to a LBS and have them do it.
I don't think you would need a new shock though.0 -
How much sag have you got?
what is the current shock?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Yeah at 17.5st Im on the edge of what the forks/rear shocks are made for.
Have you checked what Giant recommend for your weight? Trek won't recommend any pressures for weights greater than 250lb Anything higher and you're supposed to contact them.0 -

so what is it? 20%? 50%?
4.2" that will be the frame not the shock."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Sag is how far the shock (or fork) compresses when you sit on the bike. As a percentage of total travel.I don't do smileys.

You need to add more air to get the sag to about 25%0
