Doing my 1st sportive this weekend. Will be my first 50 mile ride. Anybody else doing this one?

Did it last year, nice route great feed stops and a friendly atmosphere, perfect for a first sportive.

Shocker, I rode the route for the Tour ride next day. Very Sad.

Yes, didnt hear or see anything on the ride but heard an organiser at finish speaking about an ambulance. Terrible news.

It is with great regret that we have had to postpone the Tour of the Lammermuirs RR for one week as a mark of respect to David Stanners whose funeral will be held on this day.

Organiser Sandra Murdoch has confirmed that everyone who submitted an entry for this weekend's race will get a start. If any rider who entered can't make the revised date please get in touch with Sandra direct on 0131 229 9269 or as per address details :

(David Stanners was taking part in the Peebles CC Sportive on Saturday 3rd September when he went off the road on the descent from Talla and was fatally injured.

Dave was a well liked and active member of Edinburgh RC. He was a regular leader of our Saturday development rides and volunteer helper at other club events - he was due to assist with this year's Lammermuirs RR. Dave will be missed by the many club riders he came in contact with on the Saturday morning rides, at the Kirky 10's and the many other ERC events he took part in.

Our sincere condolences to his family at this difficult time.)
