Tuning RP23 Rear shock

I just bought my first full sus bike which has a RP23 Fox shock. On the front fork I've got it tuned to how I want it roughly after a few rides and I can tell the difference when I change the rebound and lock out settings etc

The main issue is with the pro pedal settings on the rear shock. I found a guide on Youtube which explained the missing part of configuration that I hadn't figured out (pulling out the knob to turn it)

From the guide I understand that there are only 3 settings? 1 being the softest/lightest setting and 3 being the stiffest/heaviest setting? Is that correct because I don't really notice much difference when the lever is in the pro pedal mode.

The only thing I can think of is that my weight is a bit too much for it? I feel like I do get less bobbing when the level is on but I honestly don't notice any difference betwen 1/2/3 settings :| Should I be feeling the difference?

The difference can be quite subtle - and some bikes it will be felt more than others. What bike do you have?

Given the very low pivot of the design, I would have though the difference would be quite noticable as this design is rather prone to bobbing.

Hmmm :/ Well I'm pretty sure I can tell the difference of when it's on or off but as for the different settings they all seem the same to me :|

Mines been on 2 since I bought it, 3 years ago.

I can tell if the Propedal is on or off but the settings dont seem to make much difference.

The three settings should allow the shock to work when in the pro pedal mode. It has no effect in full float. It allows the shock to begin its stroke when subjected to force, ie 1 a little bit of force, three the most force.
I have the same shock and found the most effective way of setting it up was to get the sag right first.

    Mojo recomend 30% sag

They have videos on their website explaining the very easy method. However I do not know if this would apply to a 29 incher.

When I got the sag right I set it in number 2 and have left it there for the past 4 years.

Well as previously mentioned I'm not the lightest person :P The Trek suspension guide seems to refuse to give an answer if I put anything over 250lb and with kit etc I will be between 240-250. At 249lb it recommends 240psi but I found that was still a bit too much sag. I went up to around 250psi earlier but didn't check it that much after.

If 3 is the highest setting I guess I'll leave it there and hope it's working lol

if you want it tuned send it away.

if you want to set it up just do that.

just set the SAG and then play with the setting if you can not get things slow enough it may need custom valving.

Hi, I have a RF 2 also and I had the same issue. I'm just over 200 lbs fully kitted. Look at the blue sticker on the shock to see what compression tune you have. I had mine retuned by Mojo and it made quite a difference. I'm now on a medium I think.
