Just caught an item on BBC Breakfast this morning debating the merits of Rickshaws on the streets of our cities. What a hoot.

There was a rider on debating with some taxi driver dude about their use on the streets. The Rickshaw chap didn't need to say anything as the taxi fellow was such a buffoon folk would have wondered if it was a comedy sketch for the Embra festival. The fact that the taxi driver was also an official of the RMT union added to the amusement.

Brilliant!

i found it hilarious when the taxi chap said that death is inevitable if you're in a rickshaw.
  • Yes, death is inevitable regardless of your chosen form of transport.

There are people dying today that have never died before.

Rickshaw's in London, aren't they the ones with a Chinese menu in their hands?
  • To be fair, those rickshaws are a bloody pain. Most of the 'drivers' seem to have had their road-awareness surgically removed.

However, on the simple basis that they annoy taxi drivers, I'll support them.

They have these where I live. The guy you rent it from is the driver (who has to stay sober). You and your mates do the peddling. They are very annoying (filled with loud drunk Germans) if you are not on one.
