homemade flapjack or soreen - sainsbury also do imitation mars bars / snickers that are smaller than the brand ones (and bargainous), which are useful for a sugar hit if needed *during* the ride"I get paid to make other people suffer on my wheel, how good is that"

I found in my corner shop individually wrapped packs of two slices of pre-buttered Soreen this morning - frickin' brilliant. Two packs in the jersey pocket, kept me going nicely on today's ride.0

basically, grab a bowl. crunchy peanutbutter in, half as much syrup (i used maple, but if im honest normal stuff would be nicer), microwave for 30 sec, stir in porage oats, raisins, pecans (or any other nut/seed) and mix. Stick on some baking paper and make into a nice square about an inch or so thick. Stick it in the fridge till it goes hard then your set.
It obviously helps if you like peanutbutter, and if you havent tried it since you were a kid, i suggest you do, as i hated it years ago but now i cant get enough of the stuff!0
