Yeah but if they fall over the weekend they don't get shifted to Monday so you miss them anyway.

Queen's day is on the weekend this year and next

Rememberence day and is the same day as Liberation day and is only off every 5 years (for me, apparently)

Acension day is off but it's a thursday (!!!)

    Sinterklaas isnt a day off

So there are only 9-10 actual days off a year. If everything worked out for us we'd have one BH less than the UK.

I thought Dodenherdenking was May 4th and Bevrijdingsdag the 5th?

And you don't get sinterklaas off? Have you been a naughty boy!

The wife and I use the word deliberately to make the kids cringe. If in public they try to disown us.

Oh, should have said weekend consists of taking the boy to scout camp tomoroow and helping a mate take his old kitchen to the dump. Bbq on Sunday at another mates and my parents on Monday for a meal with my sister and her kids. Grabbing whatever time I can to get out and ride or tinker in the garage.

    Turning 30

Been there, done that (last December). If your loved ones force a celebration on you then I recommend getting very drunk. With a bit of luck you won't remember you're 30 when you wake up.

    Unfortunately.

However, for me it's usage marks you out as some kind of homeboy wannabe and I don't even know what one of those is.

I generally want to punch people and tell them to stop making up words when I hear the word 'chillax'

Plans for this bank holiday weekend:

Friday: Go to Tesco about 8pm, do the shopping and come home and grab a couple of beers.

Saturday: Down to the bike shop, to pick my bike up after it being repaired, then heading to fife to try the fife coastal path, then coming back via the inlaws.

Sunday: Relax maybe clean the bike and the car.

Monday: Take the wife to work, dentist and out on the bike for a ride, then pick the wife up again from work, then maybe back on the bike again for a evening ride!

Then it's back to work tuesday :cry:

If you get the chance, try the "Double Espresso Stout".... it's a fine brew.
The rest of the weekend is evolving, but should follow the orginal plan. loosely

Well, today I cycled to Skipton in the rain to buy a bottle of Grappa and a bottle of pure grain whisky. Then I cycled straight back. 42 miles usefully employed

dhope, all the best, man! I turned 30 last February. I'm still struggling to say how old I am if someone asks - it just doesn't sound natural ;-)

Regarding what I'm doing this weekend: I twisted my back badly on Wednesday, the pain today is still big, so can't do a lot... Not an excuse for my wife and daughter...

See, this is just more ammo to my argument that I should move to Claygate and not Weybridge as the Mrs wants.
