Can any of you eagle eyed people help me identify the font on my QR frame?
I want to have a bit of fun and put my nickname somewhere on the bike with a hybrid flag (Welsh/Scottish) just to make it a bit more individual, but wanted to use the same font/style outline. Thanks

I would be surprised if its a generic font0

Best bet would be to contact a company such as Victory circle graphics & ask if they can match the font to the Quintana Roo & do the hybrid flag as well.
Going to cost a bit more but it'll be worth it in the end ......0 -
it's likely that it's taken from an existing typeface, but with some of the glyphs tweaked (i.e. the Q and R) and various metrics adjusted
here's a quickie that began as interstate bold, i could've done a better job on the Q (er, and the R too)...
horizontal scale 140%, optical kerning, tracking -140
hard to tell from the original picture if the letters should also be slanted a smidge, and perhaps taper down left to right, might just be due to camera angle
i think if you use this typeface and settings you'll get close enough to do the jobmy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -
Brett, Id just ask sungod to knock you it up, convert it to curves and save it as an .eps file. I reckon if you offered him a token £5,000 for the favour he might say yeah.
Once you've got the eps file you can get it cut from vinyl from a sign makers for bugger all.
Or if sungod emails me the font I'll do it for ya, .....for £6000 (if its PC not Mac font cos im on PC)0 -
mmm, i dream of such rates :-)
to brett...
actually, if you pm me the text you want, i can lay it out for you in whatever file format you prefer - would be useful if you can post a better pic of the lettering, i.e. camera level and pointing direct at it to avoid distortion
freebie, although if you want to bung a couple of quid at a charity, a kids one maybe, that's be cool toomy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -
Thanks guys. Will take pictures after the weekend, as am straight off after work tomorrow to take my son to see his grandparents for the bank holiday.
I'll also post the ideas on the flag, as its saved on the work computer.
Sungod, no problem on bunging money to charities, we do a bit for GOSH, as a couple of the guys at work have required a lot of their help recently. Also, raised £500 for AMR last year. Let me know if you have a preference on a charity.0 -
This is the idea I've seen for the flag (as found through Google)

Didn't see that before.
That's pretty cool that they let you have all that - I guess they're not worried about people painting their frames and getting new decals - makes sense in a way.I'm left handed, if that matters.0
