Hi,
When doing the red route and at Dalby and you start at the visitor centre and come back to finish back at the centre you get the sign that says, back to visitors or to the section with all the jumps etc. How much extra distance would you be adding if after doing the red you followed the sign and went to the skills section and then biked back to the centre via the road. Just so i can extend the route.

Why not park at Dixons hollow? Then you can do a loop of the jumps and stuff, then do part of the black route, then continue on the red route. It allows you to have a stop for a jacket potato at the visitors centre 2 thirds of the way round too0

May try that at some point but just wondered how much distance wise from the sign to dixons hollow.

I wouldnt have thought its that far but why would you do that when on the red you ride right past it anyway, or as Sussed says park at dixons hollow.
Although stopping for a jacket potato is a bit extreme considering it only takes about 2.5hrs to get around, its not a difficult course0 -
It's not that i particular want to do dixons hollow i was just after adding a little more onto the ride for endurance really and wondered how much extra thats all. New to the biking game and have done the red route a few times now and was just wanting a little more distance on it.

Without taking in riding round Dixons Hollow, you are looking at 9 miles there and back.......
Id suggest do the red route to Dixons Hollow and then do a loop of the World Cup Course, and then carry on the red route if you are after endurance.....depending on how fit you are the world cup course alone can take it out of you(try to aim for the 30-40 min mark to get round),as it has some tuff climbs, specially the start of the medusa climb,i still aint managed to clear it yet
Or just get out with us on sunday up on the dales, and ride some natural stuff0 -
I will aim to join you guys at some point as i am from the beverley area.0

I found it better to start at dixons hollow, although the first time I was there i started from the visitor centre. Which was lucky for me as when i was mucking about on the bike park I broke my rear mech hanger.2011 Orange 224 evo race
