cycled into a service station just to buy a choccy bar. helmeted and mitted I went to pay and the guy asked "any fuel?". i just grinned and pointed to my helmet. he realised what he'd said and to be fair had a fit of giggles.

not often you leave a petrol station with a smile on your face!

However, on a more serious note this just goes to show that you should always wear a helmet. I don't think kicking him in the teeth with my cleats would have had the same effect!

I've had this a couple of times, last time I pointed to the sandwich I was buying and said that was the fuel.

I've had the same and actually wheeled my bike in to the shop

    "any fuel?"
    "the chocolate is my fuel"

Edit: Oops - what he said.

Yeah, it happened to me once as well :D But I just said "yes, number 27, please " making the girl confused, as there was only 8 pumps;)

I claimed bike mileage on expenses from work recently (20p a mile not including usual commute - sweet) and had the claim kicked back because I hadn't submitted a VAT fuel receipt
