As the title says really... Anyone else from the Cambridge area that would like to go for a ride.... Riding on your own gets a bit boring!

I'm currently living in Orchard Park up in the north of the "city", right next to the Cambridge Regional College...
Do you do much riding round Cambridge?0 -
I'm south, near Linton (so near enough Cambridge area), I ride quite a bit with a friend who also is local to Linton. Always happy to go ride with other people!0

Awesome, sounds good to me, always good to meet fellow mountain bikers around the area.... I ride mostly with two other guys (and a few others less regularly).
I mapped out one of the better XC routes we ride...

I've yet to really do any routes north of Linton, so will have to join you some time. I notice you have a NS Surge? I'm just getting into DJ's and ride quite a bit at Chicksands, do you go that way often?0 -

I've not been over to chicksands although its been on my list for a while... seen some videos, looks good...
I used to do loads of dirt jumping but about 10 years ago now; last time I went dirt jumping was last summer when we went to PORC and I was totally useless!!! I prefer more free-ride type stuff to dirt jumping these days... Although I'm re-building the Surge as a bike for my girlfriend (lightening it up a bit, but should still be a very strong bike)....
Ridden Thetford a few times, me and a couple of friends are looking at going up there Next week for an evening ride; there's some quite good singletrack there if you stay off the mapped routes.0 -
There is an informal group of riders that meet twice a week in Cambridge for a night ride which finishes at a village pub. Rides (to the pub) are usually about 15-25 miles depending on season, route and motivation.
Check out the group forum if you're interested http://pub3.bravenet.com/forum/static/s ... 4&frmid=160 -
I'm aware of Cambridge Mountain Bike Group. Always been interested to go out with them one night. Only problem is it clashes with gym\other activities.0

Thanks, I'm currently doing a weekly night ride in Thetford forest every Tuesday, was there last night in the soaking rain, still good fun though; need to improve on my fitness before heading out with the Cam MTB group, but probably next month I'll head down for a night ride0

I know this post is 8 years old, are you guys still alive? Just moved to Cambridge and keen to know others who ride, and routes less known to people "there's some quite good singletrack there if you stay off the mapped routes"0
