Insurance in a shared house?

Hi,
I'm looking to insure my bike. I live in a shared, rented house, so I don't think I can take out normal contents insurance.
I know there are some specific bike insurance companies out there, but they're pretty expensive at 10% the value of the bike.
Does anyone know of, or have, a specific insurance policy for a rented house, which would cover my bike?
Thanks.

call an insurance company and ask, if you have a locked room with a suitable lock, maybe you can insure 'your bit' for contents, then take advantage of the away from home cover for the bike
try m&s
fwiw i live in a block of flats, but the bikes are stored in a locked room to which multiple residents have keys, i explained this to m&s, no problem getting covermy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -
I know Endsleigh insurance did contents policies for shared houses - there are a few others too but cant I remember who at the moment. Maybe you should try an insurance broker.0

Endsliegh are the best known as they've done insurance for students for donkey's years - at least the last 30. You could also try NFU.0

Thanks all, I was just looking at Endsleigh, but they say they only insure bikes up to £1500, which is a bit too low for me.
I'll take a look at NFU too. Any other suggestions?0 -
Get adoor lock that meets the secured by design standard ( pas 23 or 24 standard ) on your room and that should suffice .Insert witty signature here0
