(I honestly looked back through about 6 pages of this forum to find similar Qn but couldn't find, so ....)

I'm after nothing too fancy so recommendations at entry level or not too far above would be appreciated.

However, if there's one that can be wrist-mounted for running, that would be good.

GPS not reqd.

It does the lot apart from GPS.

  • buuut, having just said GPS not required, I've just seen a Garmin Foreunner 310xt online for £160.

I have found that Sigma for just over £100. For the extra £60, is it then just the GPS functionality you are getting with the Garmin?

(a bti acadmeic cos as I said I'm not after owt too fancy, just curious)
  • In last months Cycing Plus they did a review on various HRM + cycling computers. I'll keep it to units under £100 (just price, name and star rating):
    Ciclomaster CM4.2 £54.00 four stars (www.hotlines-uk.com)
    Raleigh RSP 22 £49.99 four stars (www.raleigh.co.uk)
Raleigh RSP EX2.0 £59.99 four stars

The best on test was the Sigma Targa BC2209 £135.99 five stars.

  • The 2209 MHR is the higher spec (so I guess that makes it the better) unit and can be found for less than £135.
  • thanks all.

Undoubtedly, I was just transcribing the pertinent bits from the article :) . The article was in issue 252 if anyone want to find and read it. As an aside, my brother and brother-in-law both have the Garmin Forerunner 110 and they have nothing but good things to say about it.
