Front Derailleur Noise

Is there anyway to make my front derailleur silent. I am running 2 cogs. Standard group set for the Scott CR1 Comp.
I have taken it to my LBS and they have adjusted it but its still noisey in the low gears.
What do I need to do? Better derailleur? new Chain? or is it a case of it is what it is?
Cheers guys

Can you explain what combination of gears you get the noise, e.g. small front chain ring, largest rear cog etc? Some rubbing is inevitable in certain combination unless everything is absolutely precise.0

buy a hub gear
is it chain chatter cos its hanging down and bouncing off the mech guide or rattling because the chain is too crossed front to rear and catching the side of the guide?
make sure your chain is the right length not to be loose and flappy (nor so short its gonna snap when you stamp hard on the pedals) and be sure that you're using the right combo of front and rear cogs to keep the chain running as straight as possible.0 -
I have this atm. I run a triple but the principle is the same. I know not to bend/stretch my chain over too big a gap, Ie small front to small back where i would be pretty much guarenteed chain clatter.
Anyhow, i get it also on the biggest chainring upfront and smallest ring on the rear (Probably 2 smallest). I havent got around to it but as all the changes are pretty smooth i guessed it was down to the outer limit screw on the front mech not going quite far enough. Is this correct?
Sorry for the hijack but discussing issues sometimes comes up with the answer0 -
I only use the Small cog exclusively, and the noise comes at both end of the gearing on this cog. So the last 2 and the first 2. The last 2 in particular are noisey with the cahin feeling loose.11 Scott CR1 Comp0

If you are on the small cog (chain ring) and in the top gear (i.e. smallest rear sprocket) you will get some noise from the derailleur, you should be able see what side of the cage is rubbing and adjust the cable tension accordingly. Do a search on google there's lots of simple advice on how to adjust everything.
However on a compact chainset (which I guess you have) you will get some rubbing of the chain on the larger chainring when using the smaller chainring and in the top couple of gears, there's nothing you can do about this other than not use this combination of gears. If you are in the top gear on the back and using the smaller chainring at the front then you should really be shifting up onto the large chainring and dropping down a couple of gears. You will find everything runs a lot smoother and you will be more efficient and possibly faster!0 -
I will give that a try and see how it goes.
Never really used the big cog11 Scott CR1 Comp0
