Hello, I'm visiting the UK from the 9th to the 14th of September and I would like to do a little of mtb while I'm there. Any advice on where I should go to do some single track. Where is the best place to go in the UK? Do I need to book an organise trip or I can do it on my own?

Thanks for any tips you may have.

Mike

How much can you travel about when in the UK?
  • Knowing what area you will be staying in would help give you advice?

There are lots of different mtb forums where you could/can arrange to meet with some locals who would be happy to take you out on a ride.

Some of the best riding is in the Lake District, North West England. Based around Ambleside there are lots of classic routes and the bike shop have easy to follow maps.

Or here. Rides are arranged here ;)

Don't know where you're from or how much you know about the UK Mike, but you may find it takes longer to get to some places than you think. Scotland, Wales, and bits of the north of England are key places to get to with some good trail centres and very good trails.

There are plenty of places to ride though all over the place. Even some bits nearer to London but you need a guide. The dedicated trail centres are easier to find your way around.
