Hi all ive just collected my boardman hybrid comp and have decided to build it myself but im having trouble attaching the front wheel!?!
i cant see where the bottom of the forks are supposed to rest on the wheels and when the disc is inserted into the brake it doesnt spin freely at all. its like its completely stuck and looks as if the brake caliper is pissed, which i wouldnt have thought so.
This is driving me crazy so can someone shed some advice as o where i might be going wrong?
Or even better if your local to brighton you can show me!!!!!

looking at the spec. it says the brakes are bb5
check that the pads are fully seated, might be just that
otherwise, could be the wheel isn't fully seated, or the calipers need aligning properly
as a start, screw the barrel adjuster all the way in, then use the red dial on the brake caliper to increase the gap between the pads
now see if the wheel and disk will go in, with the bike upright, put some weight on the bars and tighten the quick release, finally, adjust the dial and barrel adjuster so that the pads are just clear of the disk
but even if that helps, i'd still go through the proper alignment process
the bb5 service instructions are here...

once set up correctly, bb5 brakes are quite good, but they are fiddly to do the first timemy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -
I've tried what you said although I'm not sure if I've done it right but my main concern is that when I try to attach the wheel, the disc rubs against the inside of the fork and there's nothing I can seem to do about it0

if the disk is rubbing on the fork, there's something very wrong
can you post a picture?
otherwise, contact the retailermy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -
Sounds like you may not be putting it in properly, or are forcing it in rather than letting it slide into its natural position. Some pics would be quite useful, although I highly doubt a brand new bike would have such large problems with the dropouts on the forks.0
