Groupset upgrade/compatibility?

The groupset (105 rear mech, otherwise tiagra triple) on my roady is getting a bit jaded & now that one of the shifters is dying I'm thinking that I'll start afresh with a new 105 double group.

Now I understand the old hub, currently carrying a 9sp cassette, can carry a 10sp without alteration. Is this correct, otherwise what mods would be required?

Am thinking of upgrading the groupset on my Trek 1.2T.

Currently has on a Sora triple. Thinking of moving to a 105 double. Possible?

No mods needed needed just all the rest of the stuff to make it 10sp. You could keep the chainset and carry on with a triple if it suits but buying the stuff seperatly would cost a lot more. Best bet is to buy the groupset you want and sell off what you can from the Tiagra group that is ok.
