need to ecide on a set of wheel for my wifes build. That bike will be for training and general riding. It's a Kinesis racelight frame. She's 4'10" quite light.
thinking of Hope Pro3 with Mavic open pro rims or mavic ksyrium equipe.
Any thoughts or others in the same price range I shoudl look at? we're new skinny rubber

would she not be better with a 650cc wheel? as with a small bike the pedal will be very close to the front wheel.
Of the wheels you are looking at i would go for the mavics for no other reason than i think the hope looks like its been pinched from a mtb0 -
She wants a "big girls bike"
The frame is on sale or return so if it's still to big it'll have to be a 650 wheel0 -
If you are happy to use tubs, you can't beat these for price & weight.

That may explain why the hubs are so well sealed and run smoothly for years without touching and why their freehubs don't run on plastic bushings0 -
very true. i have campag eurus on the road bike and they need to be looked after like delicate little flowers, wiped over if they get dusty, regressed regularly and put away in the winter.
my hope wheels on the mtb get thrashed in all weathers have been under water, jumped , pressure hosed and still run as well as the eurus0 -
I am a Massive Hope fan.
My pro 2 hubs on my MTB are running as smooth after 3.5 years of abuse as they did when they were new. I also know from experience that their customer service is 2nd to none if there ever is a problem.
Don't think we want to be going down the tubs road just yet but thansk for the links.0 -
I should have added that I have Hope RSSP 3.0 Aero wheels on my road bike.
I love 'em
Excellent quality and a little different to the normal Mavics / Shimano / Fulcrum etc.
One of the main reasons I bought them though was that reviews were saying that they were good for hard / heavy riders, whilst keeping the weight fairly low.Stumpjumper FSR 09/10 Pro Carbon, Genesis Vapour CX20 ('17)Carbon, Rose Xeon CW3000 '14, Raleigh R50
