Saddle pain

Hi Everyone
I just recently bought a ribble sportive and have been out on it.
I have done about four or five rides of about 40 to 60K and every time my backside has been absolutely aching.
Is this something fairly normal which will ease over time or should i look at the saddle position or possibly replacing it.
The bike came with a Pro lite lodi saddle if anyone has any experience on these.

If your new to cycling on a road bike it can take time to get used to sitting on these things. However if the seat is set up correctly on your bike you shouldn't really feel that much discomfort. It may just be that saddle is not right for you.
Finding the right saddle is very much a personal thing and nobody can really recommend one to you so it may be worth popping into your LBS and trying out a couple of different ones.0 -
I had the same problem, although I didn't know it. You have a sportive bike - so I assume you ride with an upright position, in which case the Fizik Aliante maybe the ideal saddle for the circumstance. You can get a test saddle to try out from most Fizik stockists.0

are you wearing padded shorts? you do need to
i wouldn't buy another saddle at this point, it'd be easy to get something now that feels better, but will be less comfy once you get used to things
a padded saddle may sound tempting, but the padding will squish under your weight and the other areas may then apply pressure where you really don't want it
give it a few weeks, you'll be in a better position to decide if you really need a changemy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -
If it's pain from your sits bones the bruising that causes them to hurt does go away with more miles, if its pain from chaffing and rubbing then that's different and that would probably need a saddle change but sit bone pain, you just have to go through that as your body adapts0
