Canyon XC 6.0 or 7.0?

Trying to justify to myself that spending an extra £260 is worthwhile between the XC 6.0 and XC 7.0. Rockshox Reba SL vs Fox 32 FIT F120 RL, SRAM X9 vs XT Shadow/SLX and Avid Elixir 5 vs Elixir R.
Why am I asking? Should buy the 7.0.........

I would rather have the Reba than the F120. I have got an F120 on my Trance, it's too flexy has useless rebound adjustment, each click makes too much change & I can't get it quite right.
Reba's are more reliable & have better adjustment & don't need servicing as often & are simple enough to service yourself.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
You may have to wait a bit, I think a lot of the xc range has sold out if you want the black colour. Apparently the 2012 models are coming in September.0

I'd also prefer a reba up front... these rest is much of a muchness.. whats the difference in wheels and chainset? or is everything else identical?0

Is it the Grand Canyon Al 6.0 and 7.0 as if so you may have got the specs mixed up as the website has then with Rockshock SID and Rockshock Reba.0

I'm not going to turn this into a fox vs rockshox argument but servicing fox forks is pish and I certanly wouldnt say Rebas are more reliable thats more down to luck than anything that you happened to get a bad apple or not.0 -
RS forks are much more simple than Fox. Fox also have very thin plating on the stanchions which tends to wear quickly if you don't regularly lube the seals.
While I'm at it flat pedals are better than SPD's, hardtails are better than full sus, steel is better than aluminium, tubes are better than tubeless and ale is better than lagerTransition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
Well 2 years of ownership and I certainly dont lube the seals regularly (usually because I forget, I got a small bottle in the drawer from when I bought the bike still half empty) and no flaking.
These issues are all down to bad apples as I said, I'm sure theres plenty of RS owners out there that have had numerous issues and would say they wouldn't touch them with a barge pole so to say thats a reason to get either or isn't a good one.0 -
They won't start flaking, you will start to notice the fronts of the stanchions going silver where the gold anodising wears away then they will eat seals. RS forks also suffer less stiction & have a more useful range of adjustment.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Sigh
1. Flaking, wearing out whatever, my point is I aint cared for them particularly much and they're still going strong as the day I got it, you however seem to make out that they would be falling apart and that RS are bulletproof.
2. As I stated previously this isnt an RS vs Fox argument this is a "All fox forks suffer such and such an issue" is a crap argument, RS suffer issues too so basing an opinion on whether to buy a certain brand over you saying they're all going to fall apart would be stupid, its down to bad apples and luck, same with buying a car.
3. This isnt a fox vs RS discussion.0 -
I prefer the Reba too, simply has more adjustment so can set up for a better feel. Though I prefer the XT set up ;-)0

I'm looking to buy a fs early next year and a canyon will be high on the list. Hoping they combine rebas with xt on a 2012 bike.0
