Shock Pump wont hold pressure? master blaster

hi,
i have a topeak master blaster shock pump and whilst out on the trail the other day decided i wanted a bit of a firmer ride so got the shock pump out my bag and pu tit on as i screwed it on all of a sudden it completely let all the air out of my shock which led to me being sat for an hour waiting for a rider to come bike with a shock pump .

in it holds pressure fine i dont know what that thing is but came with it.
I there anything i can do to fix it or do i need a new shock pump?

sounds like you need to clean the valve.

have you tried since fitting the adapter? it may have sorted the issue. Does it have a bleed valve for reducing pressure? check that as well.

i took it all apart and put it back together (mustve done it wrong though i then put it on a tyre and it held the pressure but it just pushed the pumper out and when u pushed it in it sprang back out under pressure. i think i put the the pressure guage in wrong, i think the rubber is perishing in the valve which is why it was losing pressure in the first place. I shall tinker some more tomo.
