my last 2 rides i have set out to stay on the drops a lot more. i have instantly seen a marked improvement with 2 rides that are faster than anything i have done before. i have also recently had a good long ride which im sure has boosted my confidence but from struggling to get to 14mpg i nearly hit 15 today. i think its making a big difference as i am 6'3" and not the most slender so reducing my wind resistance is big for me.

I don't really notice much benefit on the drops, I only use them when pushing into a headwind or doing over like 23mph.

In the drops is where its at. Work on getting that back flat and you'll feel like a pro

With no extra effort, I usually gain another mph on the drops. If i go onto clip-ons then I see another 1mph gain usually. If you're flexible enough in the lower back/hip then it is a good way to really increase your speed (stating the obvious!)

    Gain between 1-2MPH on drops @ 23-24MPH.
