Just wondering if superstar pads fit these brakes ok?

Searched for a few threads and found some people had difficulty fitting them?

  • Ben, i've run both organic and sintered in mine no probs. Bear in mind organic will not last long down cwm carn in the wet, it's like grinding paste!

I have Elixir R SL's fitted with Superstar kevlar (red) pads front and back. Fitted into mine no problems.....
  • brilliant thanks chaps... I remember it being something to do with the backing plate being too thick. Maybe it was the Juicys.

Several people have had problems fitting SS's Juicy pads, including myself where we eventually tracked it to the indent on the back being in the wrong place amongst other basic dimensional errors.

I'm using the SS sintered pads in my Avid Elixir R brakes and they are a perfect fit. Pads also last a very long time with very little difference in the performance of the originals.
If you buy a set of four, they are very good value.

I had no problems getting SS pads to fit my Juicy 7s, I never understood the fuss
