I was in the French alps this summer. One week of lift accessed singletracks (plus some extra pedaling now and then). The Paradiski area with Les Arcs and Le Plagne had surprisingly many nice singletracks and epic descents. Just to give you a taste of our week in heaven I have made some videos from 3 of the best trails:

The guys at http://trailAddiction.com did an excellent job hosting and guiding us :)

    Brilliant - Thanks for sharing!

As a side note - are these old goat/cart trails or is this manmade singletrack?

Looks really nice. We missed all that stuff by spending too much time at the bike parks. Definitely going back next year to find that lot.
  • Very nice videos, and it looks like some seriously nice riding out there. Do you know the the guides you went with had possibilities to rent bikes from them?

Thank you all for your feedback. I keep on watch these videos and dreaming every night that I am still there .... :)
Regarding the tracks, I think they are mostly man made in the sense that they are mostly used by walkers over many many years ... The guides just done a great job for reading the maps, and running of into the mountains to find the best tracks that are perfect for singletracking. As you can see in the videos, we do meet people now and then, but they are very polite and open minded so there does not seem to be an issue with sharing the tracks.
Regarding hiring bikes, they do have some renters, but most people bring their own, so you really need to check with the guiding company first.

This type of terrain does not appeal to me at all, I will be very pleased to attend my work tomorrow knowing that I would not have any fun whatsoever riding this singletrack and would much rather be working!

    Wicked films! Nice stuff.

@ MountainMonster - you can rent bikes all over the place here. The basic rate is normally about €15 a day but you could get a deal if you wanted one for a few days
