There was a recent review in MBUK or MBR (get both on sub's right now) and it wasn't very complementary......

Anyone know what exactly they criticised on the bike? Or which issue of which magazine the review was in?

Bike looks great on paper but I can't find a review anywhere.

It is quite long and steep for a bike of its travel. That said has an amazing spec.

The problems listed in What Mountain Bike magazine, are very easily solved by replacing the stock saddle, tyres and bars. Once you do that, it becomes a different animal altogether. Not perfect, but a lot better. Sort yourself out with some 2.1 Nevegals, a Charge Spoon, and an Easton Monkey Bar, then you have a 4.5 out of 5 bike. Incidentally, if anybody gets offered one in Newcastle upon Tyne, call the police, it is stolen, it was mine. If anybody can produce any information leading to a prosecution, or some more 'unofficial' justice a reward can be arranged.

I checked on out, looked like an xc bike with long travel suspension rather than an AM bike. Decent spec though. 3x10 as well IIRC.

Sorry not really down with the terminology yet - does that mean steep head angle? and long top tube?
  • had mine for just over a month, after my old orange five got pinched :( .....i didnt want to spent over a grand as i dont have it, but i havnt found anything this bike cant do compared to the orange, i have put a charge spoon saddle on, and a raceface headset and bars but not because i found it long but just to suit my prefference. dont let all the bike snobs put you of because its from halfords either as i found alot of people knocking it down for that reason, but saying that i would advise building it yourself. im 6' and the 19' fits perfectly.......buy it
