since buying my De Rosa I've struggled to do 2 rides and not have aches and pains afterwards, not normal pains but knee or hip or foot or indeed lower back. fettled with all aspects: stem length, shoe cleats, saddle height and fore/aft position but still not happy. AW cycles near me in caversham do a bike fit using biometrics can any one recommend this? My alternative is specialised BG fit at sigma which if any would people recommend? Experiences welcome too just want to get comfortable. Oddly I did a 75 mile sportive and was comfortable it seems to be shorter rides !?!?!?

Thanks Mat

    Bike whisperer again. Awesome.
  • I would agree wholeheartedly with Rozzer, Cadence sports(Adrian timmis) x pro and a lovely very knowledgeable fella. Had a fit last year and along with the sidas footbeds feel much more comfortable still got my back pain but the fit alleviated most of it. I know i am late with my thread but only just noticed your post.
  • Have you tried some self-assessment, just to confirm your saddle height and setback, and bar height and position are appropriate?

I'd heartily recommend Adrian Timmis at www.cadencesport.co.uk

It's not just the position on the bike he sorts but also shoes/cleats (Turns out I needed a stack of cleat shims on one leg) and the moulded footbeds I consider essential)

  • I went to Sigma & cannot recommend them enough. Charge £120 for an hour but my fitting took nearly 2 hours but charged me nothing more than the £120! Had loads of aches & pains before fitting but nothing since. Had to buy a few bits which suited my new position but who cares if it means a comfy ride.
