If I had a white tyre on the front and a yellow at the back? Is there a rule about this?

    Nah, I have a black one on the front and an orange one on the rear Vittorio front and Michelin Pro3 rear.

    I would buy another Pro3 but at approx $60 it would be extravagent without just cause

    You can but you'll be lumped in with hopeless degenerates like me who think that no bike is complete without at least four bungee cords, electricians tape and whatever bar tape was on special offer.

    Why do you bother with bar tape??? There's nothing more degenerate than the look of bars where once there was tape but there is no more...

    I have ridden with badly peeling bar tape after coming off the bike, it affects the comfort of the riding too much to ignore. All my hideous design decisions are all taken with the idea of function over form and a healthy dose of being a cheapskate.
