The honest truth....
I am not the organiser of Killer this year but will be in 2012. So here goes:-
11th September 2011
A 202km cycling event starting from Stourport-on-Severn. Through Worcestershire & Shropshire with brief forays into Powys & Herefordshire. Mostly lanes Low gears essential for Clee Hill Long Mynd twice(!) Stiperstones Bishopsmoat & the hills around Clun Stunning views & almost traffic-free lanes.
You won't find dentists riding this event as it is simply not fast enough and probably to difficult. Wannabe racers will think they can crack this route in under seven hours but are unlikely to do it in less than ten. Seasoned audaxers will either quake in their cycle shoes or growl with an agressive expression on their face that they are 'up for that bast*%d this year. Many of the participants will be regulars who have ridden it year on year.
For almost 30 years, this event has taken in 200km of some of the toughest routes in Shropshire and Worcestershire. In audax circles it has a deserved reputation as being a classic. Hill after hill comes at you. Each and every one saps your energy. In total you will have climbed 4,000m. When you role into the HQ, you are overawed by the sense of achievement and a realisation that if you can rider the Killer then you can ride anything. It will be a day to remember with emotion and fondness.
So are you up for this?

Either you've got the date wrong or it is on a Monday!
Did you mean September 11th?
It sounds like a great route, but I'll be doing the Shakespeare 100 on the 11th.0 -
