I've just fitted the DT Swiss CPW 1280 carbon wheelset (under 1400g for the pair!) & reweighed the bike (with XT SPD pedals) at 25lb 9oz/11.6kg, which is 600g lighter than my last Cube which had 20mm less travel than the Sting
Just waiting for the muddy board and XT shifters to arrive before it gets it's 1st outing
Pics will have to wait until the shifters and muddy board are fitted

I imagine that the placement on the Sting/Stereo/Fritzz is to do with centre of gravity & the suspension's feel with regard to pedal bob
On the AMS they use a medium compression tune on the RP23, on the Sting it's a low compression tune on a RP23, so I guess the Sting is by design less prone to pedal bob0 -
Nice mate, you'll love it
My Stereo is mint!0 -
if that goes even half as good as it looks, it will be amazing.
superb looking bike.
looks a bit steep at the front though or is that just the angle of the photo?0 -

Great looking bike. It looks like this layout makes a bit of difference to geometry, with the seat tube and therefore the riding position a bit more forward relative to the BB and chainstays.Carbon 456 http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtop ... t=12754782

Absolutly stunning, Love them Cubes0

As a first ride goes a skills coaching session is quite a way to test a new bike out
From the start I felt much more comfortable on the Sting than the AMS, more like I was sat in the bike, not on it.
The bike performed flawlessly, unlike it's rider who needed a few attempts to get things done right
Really looking forward to a day out on it tomorrow, 31 miles or so should bed it in nicely
Anyhoo some pics from the shakedown ride @ UKBikeSkills.co.uk skills centre

That big ring look hoooooooge on there for some reason.. at 1st I thought it was bigger than the one on my Boardman but it turns out they are the same lol... must be the photo angle.
Tidy looking ride though0 -

Muddy board turned up and has been fitted
Also considering a dropper seatpost
Took the bike for a proper spin out on Sunday
24 miles of singletrack, doubletrack and a few road sections to link it together
The bike is superb, much more to my style of riding
It's a superb climber even with the forks at 120mm, drop em down to 90mm and I was climbing stuff my mates were not able to get up it's usually the other way round
On the singletrack it just flies along carrying the speed really well. I dunno if it's the skills course paying off but this thing corners on rails0 -
-
I like it, i like it a lot!
Very jealous of the wheels, very nice, and light too!0 -
Nice bike. I looked at them before I went for the Stereo, your right about the climbing too I can get up stuff I never could before.0

Hi mate nice bike very nice wheels do you find you catch the pedals with the low cog I've got the sting scr in green0

A couple of upgrades have just been fitted...
A Syntace F119 75mm stem now replaces the Syntace F149 100mm stem
A X-Fusion HiLo remote dropper seatpost replaces the Syntace P6 seatpost
Both have blue bits on them to match the bike
Weight is now up slightly due to the seatpost, but still pretty damn light @ 12kg/26.45lb
Now to find some nice carbon bars ~700mm wide, Syntace Vector's would be nice but they are a tad pricey
No pics for now, but I'll get some later0 -
Very nice bike mate, looks amazing.
Can I ask, when you changed the wheels was there a huge difference ? Reason I ask is I am junkin my wheels on my Cube in favour of some Crank Bros wheels which come tomorrow and I am wondering what the difference will be like.0 -

I didn't ride it with the original wheelset on it so I have no comparison
Generally lighter wheels will make the bike accelerate and decelerate quicker, the suspension should be more responsive (wheels are unsprung weight) and direction changes with the front wheel will feel easier
But they won't hold their momentum as well as a heavier wheelset0 -
Syntace Carbon Vector bars found (Cheers Eranu) & Fitted

Hello!
I recently bought a used bicycle same as yours!
I have the same bicycle and I'm interested do you have a lining under the lacquered layer on top bar?
Do you have yet this bike?0
