I bought some 2009 Veloce shift levers to replace some older Mirage QS/Escape ones that I never liked. The Veloces, while working better for the FD, have always shifted miserably for the RD. For one thing, there just aren't any clicks when downshifting with the paddle lever although they're very noticeable when going to higher cogs with the thumbshifter. I know that you don't get the full multi-cog shifting with the 2011's but is there more of a discernible click when moving to lower gears? Do they just shift better both ways? Like to know before I buy another set. Thanks!

I dont know about the fell of the 2011 levers, but I don't think feel matters that much when you can only shift one gear down anyway. Upshift should be just fine.

But, theoretically, 2011 levers will not be compatible with a pre-2010 10-speed rear mech. Cable pull has changed a little bit to match the 11-speed geometry of the 2011 10-speed rear mechs. In reality, it might work though, as the change is rather small.
