Anyone with a De Rosa Merak?

Looking for some advice on measurements if possible. I've seen the geometry chart and what has thrown me is I've read that the stated ACF measure is not from the centre of the BB as stated but from the top of it, this could make some difference as the seatpost is not adjustable (apart from the micro post 25mm upwards).
Also what is the measure from top of seatpost to top of saddle with micro post at its lowest point. Measured inline with seatpost!
Thanks for any help

Do you think we are made of money?
Email DeRosa and ask them for the frame drawings of the sizes you are interested in. Maybe then you can see where they are actually measuring to and from.0 -
Hi gaddster,
Here is the link to the geometry chart.

I have recently taken delivery of my Merak and it is great. Best advice I received prior to purchase was to base decision on the top tube measurement. Ultimately, I think my fitter cut 1-2cm from the top of the seatpost for the best fit, so microseatpost still provides some range of movement. Will check later, but I think my seat height from centre of bb to top of saddle is between 74.5 and 75cm.
If I recall correctly, the size is measured from centre of bottom bracket to top of seatpost. Mine is a 68.5 and I am just under 5'10.
FYI, 2012 Meraks don't have the integrated seatpost.0 -
you can do 2 things:
1 - Go on TT and HT lenghts, measure your current bike and decide if you require a delta.
2 - Take your current BB to saddle top (again, decide if this fits your needs or +/- your delta) then pull the trigger.
When I bought my M/L Giant ISP I went off of TT. I didn't know my optimum BB-Saddle Top was 79.5cm at the time but luckily after hacksawing the seat tube, I only needed to add 2cms of spacers to get my desired saddle height.
Simple as.When a cyclist has a disagreement with a car; it's not who's right, it's who's left.0 -
Thanks guys, some very helpful info there. I've also written to De Rosa, not had anything back yet though..ARTHUR
