Hi got a apple movie of my great nieces party that I want to edit so I can stick it on facebook for all the relis to coo over.

Anyone point me in the direction of some free software that can do editing all I need is to cut out the shots of my feet and the ceiling, stick some sounds on in the right places and maybe stick some credits on.

VirtualDub and then get the .MOV plug in

I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Its on a Toshiba laptop running Vista business. It was shot on a borrowed Panasonic camcorder and then copied off the memory card.

Windows Movie Maker? As long as it works with whatever format you've recorded in.

Just mucked about with movie editing for the first time myself; I think Panasonic records into it's proprietary format, something to do with old DV days maybe. But a free program called avidmux can convert it for you into something more digestable my WMM.
