hi all,

i have had my 09 Rockhopper disc for a while now and i like it a lot. (just did the 40mls ridgeway last weekend), but i think its time for some upgrades.
the bike is pretty much as standard except for the wheels which i upgraded already to Hope Pro 2 Evo hub on Mavic 321 rims with schwalbe nobby nic tyres - which are great.

i now think maybe the fork or brakes are next. during long downhill section my brakes do get very hot and squeak...so i think i may be in for some bigger rotors and better brakes...

also i am tempted to get the forks done.

what are the best options?

i look forward to your opinions.
thanks,
Lars

What forks is on it now? Whats your budget? I'm no expert, but someone will give a more informed answer based on above. :)

Are you after lighter weight, or more strength? How much do you weigh?

my weight is about 108kg...for strength for sure a priority but from a fork point of view also something that has a good damping control etc...

current fork is: RockShox Dart 3 SL, 100mm, Alloy steerer, Preload and rebound adjustable with LO, "stiff" spring

as for brakes i want a bit more bite.

budget: about £300 for forks and £100-150 for brakes

    thanks lars

Reba Team 100mm, Black, Q/R Axle £269 in the Merlin Rockshox fork sale.
See my signature for how they look on a 2009 Rockhopper. :D

I've got a rockhopper and switched out the dart for a Reba team, with a bit of guidance from Sonic. Quality fork, really does change how the bike feels.
I've not touched my brakes yet but have been very tempted by the formula oro k18. 140 from Crc (or at least they were).
    Hope that helps.
