ID Bracelet

I carry an info card in my saddle bag but I prefer the idea of having an ID with some basic medical info (allergies & blood group plus next-of-kin) on my wrist for if I ever need to be scraped up.

Has anyone here ordered one? Any difficulties with it being a US company?

Does anyone have any suggestions of UK based ones, ideally with an online link so once in hospital the docs can log on and it displays a more detailed medical history etc.

Has anyone made their own? I guess you could make one and create your own website, but seems a huge faff, but possible.

Any thoughts welcome :-)

Got my wife a roadid for Christmas and no problems at all with ordering or delivery.

Ended up getting one myself too in the finish - I'd certainly recommend buying from them.

Couple of mates have the roadid bands, came quickly and without any grief. Personally I got a couple of helmet id's, don't have to remember to put anything on, well except the helmet!

+1 for Road ID. I have something called Addisons Disease and should ware a medic alert all the time but they are truly awful, so ordered a Road ID Elite in black which looks pretty smart and ware this all the time. I also have the standard Sport wrist band and ware that one when out on the bike.

Not so long ago the bracelet part on the Elite broke. One of the pins just gave up and i look after it pretty good. I sent them a pic and details of it and they promptly ordered and dispatched a new clasp part. Superb company and excellent product

+1 for Road ID. No probs dealing with them, I think mine took about a week to arrive.
I've got the standard one with the velcro strap; on it I have name, partial address, three contact numbers and blood group.

The crash card scheme that's used for motorcyclists is a similar idea but obviously more motorbike based. It's a shame there's no equivalent scheme for cyclists.

I use Medic Alert www.medicalert.org.uk and have done for many years. They store your condition and there is a huge range of bracelets chains etc that you can have.

+1 for RoadID, got myself a couple (moved, so got a new one). There's room for six lines of text, mine are as follows. I've got the name, then the number then (Dad), (Mum) and (G/F) afterwards for the contact numbers...:

On ordering the second one it was only a few dollars more to get the whole thing as opposed to just the new 'plate' so I now have an ankle one and a wrist one. Out of the two I reckon the ankle one is the better, can just wrap it round a leg and forget (and it's another bit of reflective material in the evenings).

yes - really good service, but over packaged, which must add to the cost without justification - ps - they do group discount too, so get your mates to order 15 or more and they knock around 15% off

I carry a bank card ... If it gets that bad emergency services need called then it's a scoosh for them to use this to get address/medical info ...

Plus if i die riding a bike i die happy (apart from the ladt 5 secs/5 hours depending on circumstances) ...

Caveat: my gf can feed the dog ...

Having read the posts from the start I ordered one and it came today and i'm well impressed.
I got the Wrist sport with the usual info:- name, partial address with postcode, contact name and numbers and blood group, so yeah brilliant!!.

Unless I had a medical condition I would rather refuse to accept that it could happen to me. Putting an ID tag on before every ride would just serve as a grim reminder. I want my riding to be fun and carefree. If the worst does happen then so be it.
