Anyone using a Thule towbar mounted cycle carrier, any good ?

Want to use one with my Jeep Cherokee, is it true you loose one of the bike positions with a rear mounted spare wheel ?

Cheers
Neil

i have the thule euroclassic g5 or something like that (one of the ones with a platform). It was expensive when adding in the price of getting a towbar fitted but really good, bikes are secure and really easy to attach and remove - same goes for the platform - 2 minute job to take out of garage and attach to the towbar. Downside is that you'll need space to store it when off the car.

I dont know about losing the bike positions with a spare wheel - i think you probably will lose one.

I've got the Euroclassic 905. I don't think it would fit alongside a rear door spare tyre as there is a vertical "bar" which holds the bikes virtical. This "bar" is at the rear of the platfrom and if it is impeded by the spare wheel you couldn't fit the rack.

Best to explore the Thule website.

    They work well.

Just bought and used a Mottez 4 bike towball carrier - quick to fit, bit cheaper than Thule, £200. Seems solid.

I have a Thule one and regular carry 3 bikes including to France and they were so secure that I am going to sell my Thule room bars.

I have an Atera Strada 3 bike carrier, like this:

Its very much like the Thule and of same quality (in my mind) but around £100-£120 cheaper. I also like the fact it's not as wide as the Thule so will fit easier in the boot when you have parked and taken the bikes off and want to store it away for safe keeping.

I have the 4th bike adapter installed and it has work perfectly since I got it, so can definately recomend this product.
