hallomi and lettice butties for breakfast!

i flipping well love eating halloumi, it is amazing on a bbq too.

Halloumi and bacon fried in one pan together is a taste sensation!

fukmesideways i will make a point of producing summat of that ilk for my lunch this weekend.

wife RE, who is a vegetarian will no doubt be jealous as hell because yes, she does like a haloumi sandwich and no, she will not eat bacon but she does like the smell of fried bacon![/quote

sheep’s I’ve got a m8 that was a veggie until you start cooking lots of bacon the he melts and was turned to the carnivores after a week riding in edale with only bacon sarnies to keep us going

working till lunchtime, then watchin' The Rangers on Sky. I have some ground prep to do for a new patio so that'll take up a big chunk of the weekend but out for a meal with the Mrs tonight.

Might manage a blast on the bike tomorrow at some point.

  • Got up at 4:30
Bike out of the garage and on my way to work by 5:00, 17miles later arrived and work with more than enough time to shower before my 12hour shift starting at 6:30.

Was a good ride this morning, the dark mornings are back meaning riding by bike light again (love riding in the dark), steady pace kept down most of the trails but struggled a little through the uphills in Wharncliffe (2nd day riding to work) but made it to work suitably grubby and very happy.

Have spent a few hours working out which brakes I want to replace my Stroker Trails on my Cube and have settled on the XT's, now to save some money to buy them.

Spending this afternoon planning my route home, going by train for most of it to be able to try some new routes/trails :D , not expecting to get home before 21:00 again.

Back at work tomorrow for another fun packed day but will be lazy and give the bike a rest.

I have been mostly bleeding my brakes....which was nice.
I then replaced my chain and gave the bike a good fettle.

Having seen the avatar of IcarusGreen I'm going to have a few shots of Makers Mark and an early night before a few laps of Cwmcarn in the morning.

Wales beat England, the wife and kids are away, plenty of riding, so a good weekend on the whole..

Did you replace the cassette too?

I had an epic ride at Cannock today, cycled like a man on fire. Must have been the fish and chips I had for supper combined with the crumpets with Marmite for breakfast ...and the Tesco mini donuts I gobbled en route

All in a good day with a substantial time improvement over my last rides on the combined 19 mile route of Follow the Dog and Blue Route. Win!

    Back there tomorrow too... :¬)

Bit of a late start - slept past the alarm by an hour and a half - finally headed down to the valley for a ride in Ellison Park - hadnt riddent here before and it was pretty sweet - not a massive trail network but all glorious singletrack - rode all the available trail bar about a km - very nice. I should go an d drag the bike in and spend a bit of time fettling but a beer and the PGA is winning......

Off into village to watch Ryan Leech demo in a bit then more beer in the bar. :)

  • Had a nice run home from work last night on some new trails. Got home absolutely knackered but felt good for doing it.

Back at work today and today is a day of rest, used the car for work today as I'm going to have a go at fitting my new DVD Head Unit in the car at Lunchtime :D then I can watch last months MTB DVD on how to ride properly :D

I run the M535's on my Kona and love em, If anything I would rather use them that the Stroker Trails. From what I've read the M775's still perform better in dry & wet weather than the Strokers. Whilst it is a lot of money to change I can't justify the Saints as I doubt very much that I would ever use them to their full potential.

Great time at Cannock, but too many wanderers out on the Blue Route so bailed and revisited the back end of FTD for the second time.

Did have a comedy moment off of the Stegasaurus on the first lap and that kept me chuckling for the next few miles. No harm done and hopefully entertained a few of the other riders out there!

Got the climbs just about nailed. 8)

farmer johns yesterday was pretty awesome. thought it would have been really wet but it wasn't too bad at all. my forks started leaking oil at one point though. it was a simple fix today and while i was at it i took my bike completly apart(only the headset cups were left on the frame) and i gave everything a good clean and service.

also it was my first proper ride with the 5:10s and they were awesome!! so worth the money.

i need to get a full outer gear cable set up pretty soon and i really need some new tyres. maxxis need to hurry up and release the high roller 2 in the uk!

No riding for me this weekend. Needed a bit of rest and relaxation. Spent a few hours burning stuffs at the allotment yesterday. Had a go at refitting the mudguards on the Focus, but they won't fit with the Kojaks, so will wait till mid Oct when I fit the winter tyres (Conti Hardcases).

Today, I have mostly been cutting down the barrel on an air-rifle. This was achieved with copious amounts of tea and various bacon sandwiches ('standard' ones this morning and ones with added grated cheese this afternoon). All done and working correctly.

Getting my stuffs ready for work tomorrow now. Why do weekends go soooo quickly? :(

Is that to make it easier to conceal?

Today I found out that XT chainrings dont fit FSA cranksets, shame I didnt realise until I first tried to use the granny ring about 3 miles from home. And I had a puncture.

Had a great ride at Coed y Brenin. For some reason, I just lacked energy, felt really drained from the get-go.
But the descents, oooooh yes. One of those days when everything flows perfectly - Big thumbs up for mountain king 2 tyres :D

Sort of... means it will fit into a standard sized slip (that's a gun bag), without having to remove the silencer.

    Before:

    After:

    Picture312-1.jpg

Repeated removal of a silencer can wear the threads enough for the pellets to clip the inside. This way it can stay put.

    huh?
Why do you have a silencer on an air rifle?

Erm, to cut down on the noise...

Daft as it sounds, it does make a difference. Not necessarily to you (as you're right next to the spring going boing), but from a distance, to whatever you're shooting at - which is a must when hunting.

really? I never had any problem hunting without one. The spring and piston noise was much louder than the muzzle noise :?

TBF, the difference is more noticeable if you're using a CO2 or precharged gun rather than a springer. But any difference is worthwhile.
