can sram and 105 go together

im looking to upgrade my 105 kit on my road bike but cant afford to do it all at once ,
can i have say a 105 rear mech with a sram crank etc , or is it all or nothing ?

    Yes, that's fine.

    The only things that need changing at the same time are the mech and STI unit. i.e. you have to run shimano mechs with shimano shifters.

    You can run whatever cranks you want.

    If you were running or planning to run campag, then it'd be a different kettle of fish!

    im just looking to run a sram crank for now ,think my current one is 34/50 , so i should be fine getting a sram crank the same and just swap them over ,

    If you swap to a SRAM crank you'll also need a new bottom bracket
    Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

    is that the same for dura ace with the bottom baracket ,
    will basically all the shimano stuff go together one way or another
