  • I would like to say some amazing, out there, wild thing.

In reality I would just carry on much as I do now.

Why dont you look into some of the charity work you can do abroad. I am not sure how this works, but would certainly be very rewarding, and would give you some fantastic memories, and help people worse off than ourselves.

I've had nothing to do for the past couple of months as I'm heading off to uni in september.

I got married, toured Italy, followed the TdF, went to Albania and am just about to tour the Highlands and then revisit Italy before knuckling down to do my masters.

On the days I'm at home I cycle and indulge in my other hobbies.

    Living the dream baby.

God where would we be without parents eh :?:

    Hi.

Get a decent job then you will not need to be so bitter on the internet.

Go and do a CyTech course. Get yourself a trailer. Become a traveling bike mechanic.

Yep you could get in touch with Dave Trainor, aka RevolveMCR, done exactly this & seems to be making a fist of it.

Get yourself signed on its not your fault you're out of work. Would you refuse NHS treatment to pay for private?

I'm following a couple on twitter who sold their life up & are travelling round the world on the proceeds. Its doable.

Lastly my son (no great academic but well qualified & experienced sports leader) moved down south to his gf's and within a week had lined up 3 interviews, got the 2nd one working in Wetherspoons whilst he gets to know the sports scene and people that can get him closer to what he really wants to do.

When odes the Vuelta start? If you leave now, you might just see the start..........

I have a weeks assigned holiday in March which my g/f can't get off. Not quite the same situation as yourself, but I might get the train to France and do some miles.

The very best of luck with whatever you decide. However, absolutely sign on. As said before, you need to account for periods of unemployment and keep up 'stamps' for the pension. If you really don't need the money you could just donate it to a charity or put it away for emergencies (you don't know what the future holds). Been on the dole 3 yers now myself - could have lived off savings but didn't think it would be anything like this long. How long will your money last...? (rhetorical question).
Visit Ireland - all of it! Cycle in Dublin and know fear!!
