Bike Hire 7 Stanes
My brother in law will be out for a few days in a few weeks' time and we're keen to show him some UK riding - specifically some 7 Stanes action. He won't have a bike with him so we will have to borrow or preferably hire a bike - ideally a decent one. I'm thinking of basing ourselves near Dumfried and riding Ae, Dlabeattie and Kiroughtree, with maybe one day across at Glentress.
Has anyone used any bike shops in this area - any recommendations?

Look at the Stanes web site for info.
Hire bikes at Ae are either Specialised or Trek
Hire bikes at Mabie are Genesis Core or Altitude
There are hire bikes at Kirry, probably Trek
Give them all a call first, could be busy and bike shortages.
You WILL need ID, have at least 2 types of ID with you, again call them for verification
Mabie & Dalbeattie are just 1/2hr from Dumfries and Kirry is 1hr away.
Glentress is 1.1/2hr drive from Dumfries.
Have a look at Drumlanrigg instead of GT/Inners.
Enjoy, my local trails btw
there is another forum we "locals" use mtbe forum. Dave from the Breakpad @ Kirry is on there. If you use facebook Sam Hill owns the Breakpad shop0 -

Glentress - the Hub had Genesis Core's - my mate hired one and loved it. The new bike shop will have Trek I reckon although have been in.When you hear hoofbeats, think of horses, not zebras.0
