Anyone help me out here guys?

Im from road bike background, and looking at getting a commuter single speed, that can maybe do some longer rides on.

Trek looks like it might be bit better for longer weekend training rides. And its a brand i know and trust.

BUT!

Alta One, is a beautiful bike, it all looks good and the provenance of the bike seems good what with multiple design companies having their input, but i cant find any info on the spec of the bike. Plus it being rare in this country cant find any reviews from owners either.

I want to purchase something on monday,so any quick advice would be appreciated, or alternatives upto £450 mark.

Cheers

Paul

I got a Trek as my first ever SS bike (flip-flop hub so can take fixed cog too)
Commuted regularly on it through good and bad weather.
I did a few winter training rides on it, 80 miles or so the longest - that totally killed my legs as I tried to keep up with the geared guys with massive tailwind for 20 miles.
Your alternative looks very stylish - can't pass comment over and above what you have though.

I got mine for £300 - I think that the 2ndD is a discontinued model ? For that price it has been well worth it, at £400 there are other similar bikes around.
Seems sturdy, came with 25mm tyres (ideal for my commutinmg route), the rear slidign dropouts corroded ike hell but got replacements FOC and these were better and so far look fine.
