Replacement saddle

I've recently stepped up the mileage on my bike quite a lot over the last month or so in preparation for a 40 mile bike ride and have started to notice how uncomfortable my Charge Spoon saddle is.
I went riding last night and the pain in my arse was becoming unbearable after an hour with complete numbness setting in. I kept having to stand up to give some pain relief before sitting back down and moving on. I have what my mrs would describe as a skinny arse  so would be interested in other peoples views who have experienced similar issues.
I know saddles are a very personal choice, but would also be interested to hear from anyone who has an On-one Bignose or SDG Bel Air or similar budget saddle.
I see the On-one bignose had a good write up and its currently £15 delivered. Tempted at that price to give it a whirl.
Look forward to your responses. Cheers, Nick

Personally I'm not a huge fan of the spoon. What I really like currently is the sdg Formula fx with an i-beam post. It has a huge amount of flex, the whole saddle will tip to abuot 45 degrees laterally making it ludicrously comfy for me.0

I dont find it there is much padding on the seat, it feels very hard on my sitting bones lol! I'm not looking for an armchair saddle but something with a bit more comfort and padding to it.Boardman HT Comp 2012>

Spoons are pretty comfortable but they don't last very long IME 6 months max then they start to sag.
SDG Bel Air RL not quite as comfy to begin with but breaks in after a few rides and generally lasts longer.
Prologo Vertigo Max similar shape to the Spoon but bigger everywhere and top quality. I have one that's a few years old now and cosmetically it's toast but it's just too comfortable to change.

The Prologo Vertigo Max looks a nice saddle but out of my budget I'm afraid. Looking at £50 max.Boardman HT Comp 2012>

£56 on Wiggle: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/prologo-vertigo ... n=products
It is a bit of a porker though if you're looking for something slim/lightweight I'd be inclined to look elsewhere. Otherwise most excellent in a big trail bike kindof way.0 -
I've got a skinny arrse too, I like the Gobi on my MTB and Spesh Romin on my road bike. The Romin deals with numbness due to the cutout. Might be worth trying out the Phenom, Spesh dealers will meaure your sitbones to make sure you get the right size.0

My LBS stocks Spesh saddles, will see if I can borrow a suitable saddle for a test ride.
Any other skinny ars* riders or Spesh Phenom, On-one bignose or similar budget saddle users that have anything to add?Boardman HT Comp 2012>

Ive tried a few saddles and the best oneis the SDG Bel air. Find it very comfortable and it looks good too.----
