I'm looking to ride from London to Paris with a few friends next year, and rather than join an organised charity ride, i would like to try and organise it myself. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any good resources for help and advise on this? I.e. route, hotels, tips etc.

Thanks, Matt

You will find some possible routes on bikely.com. I have just organised a tour from London>Dover>Calais>Abbeville>Beauvais>Paris.

I used Sea France as they were cheaper.

I downloaded gpx files for the routes from the above website and used a Garmin 705 for navigation.

If you decide how long you wish to take, 3 or 4 days is normal, then you can decide where to stay. Hotels and B&B's are easy to organise.

We did the Eurostar back. It can be expensive depending on the day of your return so look at this before you decide on the dates.

    Good luck!
Boardman AIR 9.8, Zipp 303 Clinchers, SRAM red groupset.
  • Thanks Broaders, this is perfect! Actually the route you mention was exactly what i was thinking, over 4 days.

Matt, we did this in June - a group of 9 from Canterbury College. Most of our accommodation was in F1 hotels. If you like I can email you the routes we took - I have them on Garmin Connect.
