HI. I recently bought a rockrider 8.1 with the view to upgrade it over time.
im wanting to swap out the frame to something a bit nicer looking and lighter, not straight away maybe in the next couple of months after some research
the frame i want to use is the on one scandal

what i need to know is if its possible to swap everything over? what things will i need to check and will i need any specialist tools?

read Park tools for what tools are needed for what ever parts you have on your frame.

thing that may or may not fit.

    Forks.
    headset
    seat post
    seat clamp
    front mech
    cranks/BB

    special tools.

    needed for

    headset
    BB

To add, the RR uses standard 1 1/8 fork and a normal 68mm BB so unless you go for something 'wacky' (or with a significantly longer headtube) it's usually just seatpost/clamp and front mech you have to worry about - all of which are of course related to the seat tube inner and outer diameters.
