Sending parcels overseas

Does anybody know the cheapest way to send parcels overseas? I'm looking into sending a frame to Sweden but all the obvious companies work out the volumetric weight so my 3kg parcel ends up being a 96kg parcel volumtericly and costing £100 plus.
Are there any sites or companies who use common sense? The box is only 85x67x31 cm

Just fill the remaining space with sand or better still, lead. At least you'll be getting a better deal. Sand may protect the (taped up) frame too.

Small packet with the post office? That's how my mum sends me stuff. She's never paid anything like that. I think she paid about 8 pounds quite a box about the same size and weight as yours full of my Christmas presents. DHL and the like are very expensive for that kind of thing. I'll give her a ring and ask her if you like.

    Yup: Try the following

    www.interparcel.com
    www.parcel2go.com
    www.parcelbroker.co.uk

I've used all of them (interparcel only today, in fact) and all are reliable. The DHL services usually come out cheapest and have always arrived promptly wehn I have sent stuff (thats between UK and France, however). The more you send, the cheaper it is per Kg.
  • Ive always used "small packet", with a customs label,,,,,not sure it ll stretch to that size thou
