guys, ive ordered a turbo trainer and i have a spare rear bontrager wheel lying around. its currently got an 11-27 cassette installed. ive recently upgrade my bike wheels to fulcrum 3s and installed a 12-25 cassette on the bike itself.
the plan is to set-up the other b.wheel with a turbo trainer tyre. should i also match the cassette to mimic my exact road setup? would it even matter?

No it doesn't matter. Turbo is only an approximation of riding the road. Use the gears to get the right resistance at a good cadence and to do intervals - it doesn't matter what actual gear you're in. Turbos are mahoosively boring - be warned. I never bother with turbo tyres -I just use the tyres that I ride. If you ride the turbo enough to need special turbo tyres, I reckon you're riding it too much.0

During the colder damp months I ride the turbo and rollers 100+ miles a week, you'll find that most of the time you'll be riding in the three highest gears (smallest) at the rear and should never need to go into the largest at the rear.
Just download some sufferfest videos or a film when the weather is bad and the time soon flies.0 -
