need help with cassette

hello there can any body me i'am fairly new to road cycling and need to change my cassette because the hills are killing me i ride a barracuda 16 speed 12x23 39x53 and been told this gearing is too advanced for me so i need to change the cassette to 13x28 or something round there . but need to know which cassette to buy it's a shimano on there at the moment

If its a standard shimano cassette, then an HG50 8 speed cassette would be the one you want, although I can't find one with a 28T sprocket, biggest I can find is 13T-26T0

What's the make and model of your rear derailleur ? If it's a road short throw you'll be limited to 28 tooth (or possibly less if it's an older model) max sprocket on the cassette.

And your front 53/39 crank is a beast , might want to look at changing it to a compact 50/34.0
