I work in Croydon, all be it outside of the town centre but I have to say from speaking to a few people and seeing pictures/videos on the news and facebook the area is a mess, loads of buildings burnt down, a massive amount of looting and even someone has been shot!0

So a normal day in Croydon then?0 -
Last night they were all travelling into Croydon for the trouble - that is the sad thing. Part of our problem is that we have such great transport links. The buses and trains were full of people wanting to join the "fun".
Croydon has been devastated. The mile of road north of the shopping centre will never be the same again.
My conviction to move away is stronger than ever, although I'm not sure where to go as I think everywhere will be as bad 10 years from now.0 -
Nottingham - House of Fraser got broken into last night, and a Police station petrol bombed in St. Anns (closing next month anyway). A few cars totaled, and a tyre shop (car not bikes - no worry) got torched.
However, the local Police's decision to let tonight's match between Forest and County seems a little silly. The only disability in life is a poor attitude.0 -

Tottenham's game on Saturday is still going ahead as well - why should ordinary football fans be deprived of their enjoyment because of the mindless violence of others?
I could understand the games being called off if there weren't enough police to safeguard security at the matches but these idiots should not be allowed to be seen to have any more power over everyday lives than they already have.0 -

Going ahead at the moment, all teams to make a decision on Thursday. An awful lot of police will be standing outside football grounds on Saturday up and down the country. A lot of them could be needed elsewhere.0 -

But you're playing EFC, the only battle there is going to be the crowds fight against boredom. Come on you spurs. The dissenter is every human being at those moments of his life when he resigns
momentarily from the herd and thinks for himself.0 -
This is pathetic, all these chavs and thugs just come out of the woodwork to start a riot, what do they normally do???
How long will these riots last, they've started in Manchester city center and Salford now, glad I'm still not living in the center but I move back in a month obviously it'll be all over by then but still..0 -
Can they raze bognor to the ground?0

Rode through Wolverhampton City Centre just before 6:00pm. Gangs of 20 to 30 year olds were being shepherded through the streets. Police in full riot gear had cordoned off several roads. At one point I wanted to ride straight ahead but thought the Police would not possibly let me. To my great surprise ,after gesticulating for the OK to proceed, I was allowed to ride through their ranks. As i was dressed in the usual roadie uniform of lycra, and riding a road bike rather than a BMX, they presumably assessed me as being a law abiding cyclist caught up in the tension. I was surprised however that I was not ordered to remove my helmet and sunglasses.
The scariest moment was when I was riding through "the mob" and thought Sh*t, if they realise I'm riding two grand worth of titanium bling, then I might be an easy target .At this point I sprinted away at a pace that would have left Cav trailing in my wake.
Still, all in all, just a typical evening out in Wolvo. Two wheels good, four wheels bad0 -
I'm surprised they haven't started here yet,If the mainland can do it so can we kind of attitude.
Especially now that half the PSNI are in England teaching your boys how to be police rather than boyscouts with a monthly wage0 -
Food for thought.....and maybe not really a new thing after all.

Funny thing is the trouble in Notts didn't start until after the match. The only disability in life is a poor attitude.0 -
No trouble in Wales or Scotland despite their police going over the border to help out. Us Celts are civilised see (cue me walking through a smashed up Cardiff city centre tomorrow!)0
