Well after a lot of waiting and if's, but's and maybe's, I've finally got myself a new bike.
Spec:
Frameset: 2010 Colnago EPS (Colour - AMIT) with Colnago headset, seat post and clamp
Wheels: Pro-Lite Bracciano with Continental GP4000S tyres and titanium skewers
Chainset: Campagnolo Super Record 2010
Mechs: Campagnolo Record Front and Rear 2010
Shifters: Campagnolo Record 2010
Brakes: Campagnolo Centaur
Chain: KMC X11L
Bars: Deda Newton
Stem: Deda Newton
Saddle: Selle Italia Max Flite
Pedals: Shimano M520  I know, I know but I don't race!
Build Cost: £2425 including all the little red bits and a few tools however I am using my existing wheels/tyres, saddle, pedals and brakes. Did get some great buys on the 2010 Record/Super Record parts though and I preferred them to the all black 2011 stuff for this frame.

Nice. I have Braccianos on my CAAD5 and they transformed the bike.
If you want racier looking SPD pedals have a look at A520s.http://www.strathspey.co.uk - Quality Binoculars at a Sensible Price.

That's pretty sweet but you knew that already.
You do realise that it's a crime to use those pedals on that bike though. Luckily for you the police are tied up with other things at the moment but I'll make sure they find out about it so expect a knock on the door sometime soon.
How does she ride and what's your other bike for comparison?0 -
cheers Unixnerd, I've seen that vid and the other one where they hand paint the frame (in my colours too!) I do like the Braccianos as they are comfortable yet stiff and free spinning but I just want something to finish the bike off - Bora IIs maybe but don't think I will be able to afford them.
Yup no lies DrK
Pete, yeah I know they are totally wrong but if i change to road pedals then I'd need new shoes too so that would be £200+ that I don't have. They will come in time but have other priorities just now. Only been out on one ride when quite windy and the gears are 53/39 - 12-29 so very different from my Vitus which cost me £300 and has a 28/38/48 triple with 12-23 cassette - originally bought to see if I would get back into cycling after over 20 yrs away.
Colnago is very stable and smooth, yet very stiff - notice it when on steeper hills and out of the saddle - no energy is wasted - going up the hills 1-2mph quicker.
It's the kind of bike that is I will grow into and the better I get the better it will be I reckon.
thanks for the comments guysKev

In the last week or so I've been a lot better and can cycle on the Turbo again, tried to get back on the bike in September but my arm couldn't take any weight, even now I can only arm curl 25% of what I can lift with my right arm. The important thing is I can now cycle and I am able to weight train a little. Even managed to go down to Cadence Sport for a bike fit yesterday - saddle position changed a bit but the main benefit was from the footbeds and change in cleat position - now i can get on the bike and be comfortable immediately - no shuffling on the saddle or wiggling of feet so I have a sound basis to get back training.
So today I got to set up my winter bike the same as the EPS an get my legs spinning. Still not able to ride properly out of the saddle so I''ll stick to the turbo for now and venture out when there is a nice dry day - shouldn't be too llong before you see me out with the LSB gang again - tell them I said Hi the next time you are out if ye don't mind.
thanks for the post

Looking better with the upgrades.
Do you think a black saddle would work better ?25th August 2013 12hrs 37mins 52.3 seconds 238km 5500mtrs FYRM Never again.0 -

It's a 50s and now my fit is 670mm centre BB to top cnetre of saddle - as per Adrian Timmis' advice - I've got really short legs but quite a long torso so running a 120mm stem.
Highly recommend Adrian's bike fit - well worth the 650mile round tripKev

I'd tried the black saddle from my winter bike but didn't like how it looked - too much like a cut'n'shut - now changed both my saddles to Fizik Antares and the one on the EPS is white with red 'shoulders' which looks excellent and really picks out the red parts on the frame.
Just got to get Record or Super Record brakes and it's complete 8)Kev

Colnago's are known for their paintwork - plain black is a bit of a waste but does suit other bikes. I know you can get a matt black C59 and the newer paint designs are much simpler but personally i don't like them - Colnago look best with cool paint designs IMO 8)Kev

Next frame I want would be something in steel - Feather or Colnago Master or maybe custom titanium. Not planning on getting rid of the EPS though!Kev
