Which rear tyre, Gatorskin or Armadillo Elite?

I am just about to purchase a new rear tyre for my commuter (Langster).

I have completed over 1,200 miles on Continental Gatorskins, with only two punctures.

The last puncture was a nail in through the rear, leaving two nasty holes.

Just debating whether to stick with Gatorskins or go for a Specialized Armadillo Elite?

Also, would there be any bemefit to switching to a 700x25c on the rear? I currently have 700x23c on front & rear.

Any thoughts appreciated.

:D

    Durano.

Either the S, Standard or plus, depending on what balance of protection, grip and rolling resistance you want. However (and this is where I curse myself) I average about 3000 miles between punctures on the S' and they are the least protective.

Durano Plus are essentially Marathon Plus, but in 23mm slick form.

    Durano Plus then!

Have heard they are a pig to fit??

What size is best, shall I stick with 700x23c or go for 700x25c?

    I've got 25s (Durano+) on my Langster

One was a pig to fit, the other seemed to go on easy for some reason. I'm yet to find out how easy they go back on after a P*

All personal preference on 23/25 though I think. Ask some people and 23s are faster, ask others and 25s are no slower but more comfortable.

    I went with the latter

Had Durano+ on the fixed. I don't remember them being too difficult to fit and never had to take them off for an unscheduled deflation.

Durano here also. Won't be going back to Gatorskins.

Just ressurecting this for my own needs :D

posted elsewhere but this area is always busier...

Getting a pompino versa 11 built up and have to make a choice on tyres for commuting.
I currently commute on an slpro with 25 mm Rubino pros which i love.Had a few punctures though. Not glass but embedded small sharp stones. But On-One dont sell them, have no marathon Plus and have offered me a choice from these...

    Schwalbe Marathon Supreme Wired Tyre / 700c / 35 mm / Black
Schwalbe Marathon XR HD Ceramic Folding Tyre / 700 / 35c / Black with Reflective Stripe
    Schwalbe Marathon Racer Raceguard Folding Tyre / 700c / 35mm / Black
    Schwalbe Marathon Racer Raceguard Wired Tyre / 700c / 35mm / Black

    Schwalbe Marathon Tyre Wire Bead / 700c / 25 mm / Black
    Schwalbe Marathon Comfort Wired Tyre / 700c / Black / 28 mm

The XR HD look like they might be good but 35mm....ummh

anyone use any of these? any recommendations?

On-one now say they have the durano in a 25mm in cream which may just look right with the white frame OR the durano s in 23mm. No Durano plus's unfortunately.

torn between cosy ride on a 28mm or 35mm tyre but need for speed of a 23 or 25mm tyre
    :D
If durano the the s version not as tough as the standard durano?

    cheers

I don't know how the Ses compare to the Pluses as I've only used the latter, but the Pluses available on Wiggle in 23 or 25mm.
